Esports + Broadcast
From live broadcasts and tournament production to social media and event coordination, esports introduced me to fast-paced storytelling and collaborative creative work. I’m especially interested in the way broadcast production can turn competitive moments into emotional and memorable experiences for viewers.
I’m passionate about the way esports brings together competition, storytelling, and community. Watching VCT and collegiate esports inspired my interest in live events, production, and the creative side of gaming culture. Through student organizations and esports communities, I’ve explored social media, event coordination, content creation, and audience engagement while learning how digital communities connect through shared experiences. I’ve also volunteered at SEN booths and community events, helping create welcoming spaces for students and attendees to engage with gaming and esports culture. Additionally, I served as Team Manager for UCSD Gold, where I helped support team coordination, communication, and organization behind the scenes. These experiences introduced me to both the operational and creative sides of esports and strengthened my interest in community-focused production and event work.
Broadcasting introduced me to the fast-paced world of live production and collaborative storytelling. I currently serve as a lead for the Triton Gaming Broadcast Team, where I help support production, content, and broadcast-related initiatives for collegiate esports events. I’ve worked on livestreams, event scripting, casting, and production coordination while learning how live broadcasts come together behind the scenes. Some of my experiences include casting TGEX 2024, upcoming TGEX 2026, and UCEI 2025. Through broadcasting, I’ve become especially interested in how commentary, visuals, pacing, and live energy can transform competitive moments into emotional and memorable experiences for viewers.
